These discs fly great and even better when wet. They are tough enough but not impossible for your dog to damage. My dogs have strong jaws and teeth and love to chew them. I stop them by acting like a mad big, bad alpha dog but they just won't stop. The discs hold up to this normal chewing; however, I have gotten distracted by talking to a neighbor and if the dog is allowed 10 or 15 minutes of uninterrupted chewing they can damage the rubber hose that is sewn around the perimeter. If this happens I normally take a short piece of auto vacuum hose which fits perfectly inside this outer hose and glue it with super glue gel. It will wobble a little bit because it's heavier on that end.
These discs get very dirty with dog slobber and dirt. Occasional dipping in water cleans them in-between throws. Afterwards, I clean them with the jet nozzle on my water hose and hit them a few times against our fence to sling off the excess water. I then lay them to rest by balancing them on an object at their center point because they stiffen a bit when dry and this causes them to dry in the correct concave shape ready for flying.
My dogs love them and frequently lead me to them where I store them in an attempt to get me to throw them. Vets love my dogs because they are so muscular and it is because of these Frisbees!
My dog is a Shepherd. ~15 months old as I write this, though he's a little on the small side at ~80 lbs. He loves to play with this toy (as do I ;). He's rough on it, but then I suppose most dogs would be since it probably activates that chase / hunting instinct. After catching it my dog will chomp all around the edges of it, (the silicone tube forming the rim almost invites this behavior), shakes it vigorously (!) side to side, and uses it to rip up grass by setting it down, biting the middle of it and ripping out the grass that he traps between his teeth on the far side of the disc. He'll do this for a minute or so until he's ready for me to throw it, at which point he'll drop it on the ground and step back. My dog has access to this toy *only* at the dog park when we are playing catch. There have been no tug-of-wars with the two larger discs, nor any other abuse other than that described. Durability of this toy (or the lack thereof) is an issue. Based on my experience with the smaller version (purchased at a local pet store) I purchased two of the larger discs and one of the smaller discs from Amazon. The first 12" disc I brought to the dog park failed in a single session (10-15 throws / savagings). The second one failed this morning after the third session (50-60 throws). Booda (the manufacturer) secures the ends of the silicone tube by inserting them into a slightly larger, more flexible silicone tube (see photo, top right). They position this splice / juncture at one of the seams in the cloth sleeve that encases the tube. Collectively these form the rim of the disc. Failure occurs because the ends of the tube slip out from the weak point in cloth sleeve. Of the two large-sized discs I've used, the failure mode has been both rapid and identical (see photo). It's a shame, because this is really a good toy. In comparison, the smaller sized disc has lasted 4+ weeks (10-12 sessions a week and ~ 20-25 tosses per week). It doesn't fly quite as well as the larger size (less stable) and requires a slight breeze to throw into so the disc will hang up a little and give the dog a chance to get to / under it. Until the silicone tube pops out, these can take a *lot* of abuse and still be functional. Once the silicone tube pops out... not so much.

This is the third unit we've purchased and the first 2 were awesome, well made and durable. We love them. That is why we purchased a third. They tend to be hard to find after a snow shower and our border collie is bored silly without her favorite toy. The first one is about 1-1/2 years old now and a little faded but the first 2 have held up very well and are still working as designed. Unfortunately, the third one seems to have been made with defective nylon fabric. Our dog does not chew up her toys, and that is why our other disks have lasted so long. However, we noticed that a hole had almost immediately formed in the center and that the plastic coating had peeled off most of the fabric after just 2 weeks of use. That makes us unlikely to purchase another until we are confident the problem has been corrected.
We think these are the best disks out there for athletic dogs so I wanted to contact the manufacturer to let them know since this could simply have been a bad batch of material. Unfortunately, I didn't see a way to do so through Amazon. Maybe someone will contact usand we can revise our review?
Update: Since the above problem was reported we were sent a replacement disc. The replacement is as well made and durable as the discs we purchased prior to the defective one. So, for that reason and because they cared enough to correct the problem, our Border Collie, Belle, has revised her rating to a solid 5!
